Don't think you'll make it. That's my honest opinion because you're just not good enough but I'm not completely sure.

Why aint I good enough? If I bring up the GPA do you think I will make it?

I should think that would help greatly.

I plan to at least raise it to a 3.0

Hopefully higher. I also told them a great deal about the personal history. Ex Gangmember, high-school dropout, and ex troublemaker turning my life around to do something great. I also made it a point to talk about my experiences growing up as Latino on Chicagos Southside. Anybody have any idea when they will send an acceptance/rejection letter?

Bump to top of thread.

university of washington is not too tough to get into. it accepts 70% of appicants so i say you have a shot (im a local seattlite)
your accomplishments show you are a very motivated person who turned it around in college.

i know a senior who got in with 3.0 gpa and 1100 sats (the old sat)

Cool. Thats a load off of my mind. I am still nervous but I believe that everyone on this board is nervous about getting into their school of choice.

Bump to the top of the forum. I want some more responses.

Bump to the top of forum. I am going to keep bumping til I get a response from the U of Washington.

Dude think of what you are doing. You're asking a bunch of teens who barely know what they want to do with themselves. I would call the admissions office at U. Washington and ask them instead.

I'm very curious what happened, please post any news form UW.

Still waiting to hear back from then. So what if I am asking AA. I am just hoping to hear back from others and gauge my chances off of their opinions and experience.

Brought my GPA to a 3.042

I earned 12 more credit hours (2 A's and 2 B's)

Dropped one of my Spanish classes and Dropped my math class. Replaced them with a Film Studies class.

Getting into UW as a transfer student instead of a freshmen is more competitive. I know a few students that got in with a 3.1 and 1150 yet transfer students who were already earning solid colleges grades being denied.

Work on your GPA, show some rigor in your academic course work and really focus on writing a superb essay.

Good Luck!

I brought my GPA up to about a 3.1 (I wont know until August but I got an A in the class thus bringing up my GPA). I didnt get into U of WA but I am probably going to apply again soon. Thanks.

Bump. My GPA is now a 3.098

I have changed my major to Sociology as opposed to AJ.
