I have a friend who went there and one who is still there. both are very athletic. Definitely not nerdy. One was a party-er before she went but cleaned up her act once there because she wanted to do very well. They both love the school.

Did you get accepted to Choate? Did you visit the school and have a tour?
Then you should contact the student who toured you. He/She’ll give you information about the school, whatever it is.

I got waitlisted to Choate (for two years in a row) but it still is one of my favorite schools. The students seemed all really friendly (when I visited) and the faculty members were very kind.

They’re not very nice to Deerfieldians. My impression of the school is that it’s a party school. Their online newspaper is A MESS. [The News - The Newspaper of Choate Rosemary Hall](http://thenews.choate.edu/)

Top Story: “Eleven Beds Prove Too Little for Health Center.”

What, were the beds made for miniature people? What an amateur error. Click on the thumbnail of the front page. Notice that the front page is from February. Last year.

FAIL

There are tons of little problems like this on that site…

I love the Phillipian, I actually read it… :). Are you sure this has nothing to do with your attendance to Andover as opposed to Choate, though. either way, I agree with you.

Even so… The News sucks. I read the Phillipian too! I have it bookmarked. I’m basically counting down the minutes to Friday evening when they finally update the stories! Obviously they don’t update it over spring break so it’s been upsetting for me to have to wait =( I’ve been faced with that picture of Bill Drayton every day for the past three weeks when I’ve opened the page hoping for updates… Such experiences are psychologically trying, you know!

Haha. At least they don’t advertise! Plus anyone reading the Choate newspaper (a, supposedly, school for amazing people) would click ANY of those links… each click is like 10¢…

I don’t like the over all feel of Pelican (for what it’s worth) but it is one of the better publications overall. It is very clean, I have trouble loading the whole site though. The articles are well written.

^That was a little rude, a bit excessive. I think Choate is a great school, but it in no way fits me. Kind of like enzymes, they only work for certain things. I guess Choate does not catalyze me. Their website knocks the other schools out of the world, for what it is worth.

When I was visiting Choate I happened read through their newspaper and it said nine students were expelled for smoking pot. You won’t find that at any of the school’s publications. Also, it my town there was Choate weekend party that spilled over such that the cops had to be called. Maybe Choate is a little more extreme but its no different from any other BS or HS.

Oh, and what I said may have been rude, but it was by no means excessive. I’d link you to a facebook picture and its accompanying posts but chances are that you are friends with none of the people tagged in the picture. So just take my word for it.

Maybe I’ll fb you a transcript of the posts because you won’t be able to see the picture in context. I’ll find a way lol. I guess you do kind of need to see the picture too to understand. I’ll find a way. The poor kid in the pic is my cousin too… He got picked on by so many Chodes for it

Whoops, sheesh, what is it with me and associating Choaties with Chodes? I simply must stop!

Haha ok, I’ll take your word for it. Choate is like an inhibitor to some people. Some great people, such as Saer, it is great for and others like me, not so much. sink or swim I guess!
