What are creative writing classes like at Dartmouth?

Specifically, what are the fiction classes like? Are they more lesson based, or more workshop based? What kind of feedback does one receive in a writing class and/or workshop? Are there lessons on plot, character development, beginning and endings, etc?

Do the professors ever mention the publishing process or industry?

Since no one has answered, I’ll pipe up and tell you that S took one creative writing class, his last term, taught by Jeff Sharlet, but it was non-fiction oriented. He loved it. I know he wishes he had started taking writing classes earlier, but his realization that he was interested in it as a career came late.
