What are everyones thoughts on Supply Chain Management?

I am debating on majoring in Business Admin with a SCM specialization or just sticking with accounting. I'm good at accounting but don't like it very much. Have only taken ACCT I and II but got A's in both fairly easily and with basically no studying. A little worried about intermediate though.

Thoughts?

And yes I go to an AACSB accredited school if that matters

Hello there. I am thinking about getting into the SCM field. At first, I was considering majoring in supply chain management, but now I am going to do a 5 year engineering/mba program. Industrial engineering with an mba that is. First of all, you probably should stay away from accounting if you don’t like. That could be a field where interest is very necessary. The business management and supply chain field are very promising provided that you are interested. Also, some schools offer a supply chain management degree. That would be a very wise choice if you really narrow down your future to SCM because that major teaches a lot of specific classes geared toward logistics, etc. Business management would be good because it is very broad in scope. SCM or Industrial engineering is the way to go if you really want to work in the Supply Chain field.

I’m also interested in hearing what everyone thinks about this.

Bump

10 char

I agree with clone except that business management is too broad to mean much. And do not waste your time, money and hope majoring in something you don’t like.

Consider Industrial Engineering, which would be the more technical/mathematical degree focused on the micro vs. Ops Mgmt/Supply Chain Mgmt focused on more macro issues.

Acct only gets harder, so I’d avoid it if it doesn’t match you well.
