I am taking all honors classes and have a 3.7 unweighted GPA. I do varsity rowing on a team that consistently goes to nationals. I am a 3rd degree black belt in karate. I also play the viola and have gone to many events for the best in my state [NY] . I also have 100 service hours and in the summer I work at a summer camp. My SAT is 1460 and ACT is a 32. I appreciate the help!
I’m assuming you’re a junior? What are you interested in studying? Do you want to be close to home? Do you have a preference for an urban or suburban campus? How much are your parents willing to pay each year? If you don’t know, ask them…
I am interested in studying business. I don’t care about location and my parents can pay about 40,000 a year. @Fishnlines29
Ok, business is a start! Have you visited any colleges yet? You might care about location when you start visiting. Are you a sophomore or a junior?
Look into URochester, which may offer you sufficient financial assistance.
I’d say add Cuny Baruch to your list since your in-state it’d be super cheap and it has the proximity advantage to NYC/Wall Street type stuff. Suny binghamton & Suny Buffalo are supposed to have good b-schools too. Buffalo would be a decent all around safety. Besides those for financial safeties you should give us some more info. What concentration are you thinking?
I am a sophomore, beginning my search. I have visited one school Notre Dame, this was a first choice to visit because my parents and grandpa went there. @Fishnlines29
Finance or economics are what I am thinking about. @philbegas
Economics can mean very different things. BA vs BS in econ are different things, which is different from a BSBA in business economics.
Either way, the schools i listed would be good for in-state schools. When it comes to out of state are there areas of the USA you prefer? Types of weather you prefer? Big city, rural, etc? IMO you should run a college search tool like colleges niche and get your list down a little bit.
I think that a BA in econ is what I am thinking about … maybe @philbegas
Ok. I recommend checking out curriculums because a BA will be more on the theoretical side vs a BS being more applied.
Then I mean BS in econ my bad @philbegas
For the study of econ, highly placed colleges in these analyses, such as Colgate, would be top-notch:

However, we cross-posted, and from what you have just posted, schools that offer a business major may be more suitable for your general interests, @ryanroos.
Ok. Either way I say do some research.
https://econ.washington.edu/choosing-your-economics-degree has a pretty good breakdown of ba vs bs in econ.
And that’s going to be a little different from a BSBA in Business Economics because if it’s within the business school you’ll have more required core classes like accounting, information systems, etc.
Schools with solid business/econ programs and relatively generous need-based aid (listed roughly from more to less selective):
Notre Dame
Claremont McKenna; Washington & Lee
Colgate
Wake Forest
University of Richmond
State universities usually don’t offer much need-based aid to out-of-state students, but in some cases their full OOS sticker prices are under (or not too far above) your budget limit. Check out business programs at the University of Indiana - Bloomington.
For safeties, consider public universities in NY.
