Just had my first internship interview. It was for an internship related to operations management. I am an IE major and although this is only my third semester, I am trying to see what I can get.

A bit of broad question but, are internship interviews usually pretty short? Or long and excruciating? I am just trying to get a better idea of what to expect next time.

Thanks!

They vary. A lot. It depends on the company completely. Talk to people who’ve interviewed with whatever company you’re interviewing with and ask.

Every IE interview has had some behavioral component, and they’ve been typically entirely behavioral, though not always. In terms of length and number of interviews, I’d say typically there is either just a single interview or a screening interview and a further single interview (though the “single interview” may be done in multiple parts on the same day) but sometimes this isn’t true and this isn’t terribly uncommon in full time interviews either.
