What are m chances of getting into uci, ucla, ucr, csulb, and lmu?

I have a 3.0 gpa and i scored a total of 1410 on my sat. I also took the act and got an 18. I have taken many AP and Honors courses throughout high school. I am involved in many clubs around campus. I have been playing tennis for 3 years (varsity 2 years) and I am captain. I am a president of the Desi club and a treasurer of two clubs. I enjoy my hindu culture alot. I have taken part in an organization called the Fulfillment Fund since 8th grade. It takes you throughout high school and into college. I have also done 200+ hours of community service in my temple and the publc library. I am also currently employed in the library as a page and have been working for one year. So what are my chances of getting into each college?

Low for pretty much every college you will ever apply to. Your act and sat scores are horrendous. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Have you calculated your UC GPA?

ya i have and its a 2.99..really close to a 3.0..so what do u think my chances are..i mean i have gotten my personal statement checked and the people say that they liked it..

Probably in at Riverside, dunno bout the rest...

If you meet all the requirements for the UC system, you will have a spot in either UCR or UC Merced, probably both, if you decide to apply to those schools (assuming you are a California resident)

Uhh have you taken subject tests? If you haven't take them ASAP December or else there's absolutely 100% no chance for admittance. And I am assuming that 1410 is not out of 1600 (CR+M), so you should probably sign up for the ACT in December.

ya i have..i took one and i got a 410 in chemistry..i am a really bad test taker as if uve noticed...and i plan on taking two more in december..

Ok, UCLA is probably not going to happen as it's a really big reach.
UCI probably not as well as it's reach though less than LA.
UCR - maybe
CSULB - probably a match
no idea what lmu is

LMU = Loyola Marymount University, a private Catholic school.

With the recent budget problems, even CSULB will probably a reach .

You should pick out some safeties, all the ones you want chances for are slight-reaches to reaches to high reaches, sorry to say. If you can retake the SAT, do so.

I think your best bet is either UCR or CSULB, both of which are slight reaches/low matches

Gl whatever happens.

so if i forget about ucla and lmu...what are my chances of getting into uci, ucr, and csulb..can i have a percentage please?

i think you can get into the cal states and lmu, maybe pepperdine if you have legacy. i've seen a 2.6 get into pepperdine with legacy. and i think you can get the lower uc's too.
and oregon, osu, wsu, u of a, and asu.
uci: 10%
ucr: 70%
csulb: 80%

chance back?

what is a legacy? and i have another question..if i play a sport, does that raise my chances of getting into uci, csulb, or ucr?

legacy is if a parent or other relative went to that college.

and unless you're getting recruited for that particular sport, it means absolutely nothing, other than the fact that it's a nice EC.

which schools out of those did you end up getting into?

I’m gonna tell you like this! God holds the key to WHATEVER is going on in your life…No matter what these people are saying, you never know WHAT God has in store for you! Take it to Jesus…If he wants you in a school of your choice, then that’s where you will be…If not, then he has smething else in store for you…Through it all, it will work out in your own good! Just put your trust in him…I got a 18 on the ACT…I got a 1310 on the SAT…I applied to USC, Pepperdine, LMU, and Chapman…I stay all the way in Illinois…I’m still waiting on all 4 of those school’s replies! I gave all of that to the Lord to handle…We shall see!

You also can consider going to UCR, UC Merced or a local JC for two years and then going to UCLA or UCI…I believe they have an auto entry if you’ve gone to a JC for two years (so I assume it can be another UC school too). Check the course requirements on the two year JC if you do choose to go this route.

Wow, God gave you some terrible grades, TimMan2010. You’re really not going to get into any of those schools.

bringing the thread back on topic…
@ OP I think you should apply to UCR, UC Merced, and UCI. Percentage of getting into these schools are 50%, 60%, and 0-5%, respectively. I will be brutally honest and say that you did not perform well at all in high school. I think at this point it is best to go to jc like other posters said, and study hard before transferring. Nothing is worse than going to a 4 year college when yur not ready and wasting money and time there.

Any CSU you will apply to they will most likely accept you, if you got higher than a 3.0. Also since you took AP classes it should help you out for CSUs. Now for the UCs. they dont accept anyone with lower than 3.0 nowadays. If you play sports it will definetly raise your chances, but not a lot. I dont recommend aiming for an UC if you cant deal with rejection. Your GPA and SAT scores are horrible try to raise them by a lot. Aim for at least a 3.7 and 2100+ SAT score.
