What are most boarding school students like

Next year, I would love to go to Exeter... but obviously since so few people are let in I have other choices. Most of them are the top schools such as Deerfield, Hotchkiss, and Andover but I also need to add safety schools to my list.

One of the many things that I like about schools such as Exeter is how studious everyone is there. Are there other schools out there (other than the top schools) that have people that love to learn and want to learn and actually talk about school stuff?

Since I'm not guaranteed on getting into the top schools, I at least want to go to a school where people care about school and actually like it. Are most boarding schools like this?

I think the best thing about most boarding school students are that they are all unique and well rounded people who have such a great level of determination for a good future. The admissions office must choose among a large group of talented students so it sounds like the chosen applicants are those who work hard and are just smart. Well, you must also take in consideration that boarding school students are the ones who mostly relate to their school and its morals and values.

Many of the boarding school kids are well-rounded and have large future ambitions. They also are very studious and the majority are excited about learning.

cant generalize kids cuz not everyone is same

Many are self motivated
Since a majority form most schools live on their own they are also more mature, from what I have since at Exeter compared to my old public high school

i have to disagree with some of this, i think the kids who are on FA are more determined to succeed and do well, i kind of feel that some of the kids that pay full blow dont really appreciate the opportunity and its seems that they take it for granted.

Very, very, very good point deerhotch!

BUMP, agree with deerhotch, though overall BS kids are well composed from what I see, even the ‘waspy’ types
