What are my chance at these 8 schools?

Well I just finished sending my app's today, and I am wondering what my chances are.

1-Boston College (Big Reach, just want to try, not applying EA)
2-George Washington University (Pretty big reach, not applying ED)
3-University of Maryland College Park (Preferred Decision or whatever it is)
4-Syracuse (not ED)
5-University of Connecticut (EA)
6-Loyola College (EA)
7-University of Vermont (EA)
8-Northeastern University (EA)

Ok...

Weighted GPA 3.54 at a really good public high school.

SAT1. 1920/2400 1250/1600 670 writing, 710 math, 540 english. took again this past saturday and i feel i did much better. probably same or worse on writing. hopefully 800 math and 600 reading. so i will hopefully be at 2070/2400 1400/1600.

job

-work at EMS since august. about 20 hrs a week.

i wrote a very good essay, and my teacher recs should be decent with a very good counselor rec.

Thanks for any words of wisdom

i also am considering my chances to sort of be like this...
BC <5%
GW 10%
UMD 50%
UCONN 70%
Loyola 70%
Northeastern 80%
Syracuse 90%
UVM 90%

are these about accurate. hopefully they are because i already sent in my apps and everything. i just want to make sure

Boston College--Reach
George Washington University--Slight Reach
University of Maryland College Park (Preferred Decision or whatever it is)--Match
Syracuse (not ED)--Match
University of Connecticut (EA)--Safe Match to Match
Loyola College of Maryland (EA)--Safe Match
University of Vermont (EA)--Safe Match
Northeastern University (EA)--Match

just out of curiosity why aren't u applying to umass if u got the John and abigal adams scholarship?...and are u putting it down as an award on your apps even if it doesnt apply to that school

Ok, those are good questions. I am not applying to UMass and the reason for this is because my counselor gave me this sheet telling me I have free admission after I had already given my teachers the envelopes, filled out the school transript release form, and paid to send out my SAT scores through college board. I just decided to not do more and apply for UMass as well.

I have this award listed on my applications because I asked my counselor if it was alright to put on apps and he said definitely. I dont know, I dont think it will help, but I dont really think it can hurt me either.

UVM flat out refused anyone with under a 3.4 weighted last year, and denied/waitlisted many people with 3.6 weighted and lower.

ya UVM isnt a complete safety. but that combined with the others, im not to worried. when it comes down to it, i only NEED to get into one of those 8 schools. and my viewing my high schools action report for UVM, i dont think that will b too dificult

My friend's brother got into UVM OOS and he's a complete pothead. I doubt he had a 3.4

worth, If UVM put that in writing, could you post that link? That would be very interesting, b/c there are lots of kids in my son's hs with 3.1-3.4s that are really pretty good students. The hs is just really competitive.

ya i agree. my high school is one of the top public schools in the state. i just dont think that uvm doesnt accept kids under a 3.4.

students with a 4.0 or better at my school are applying to ivys and near ivy type schools. there is definetly a middle ground

and i just looked at my high schools scatogram for uvm and I see atleast 4 acceptances for gpas under a 2.75 at uvm

any more opinions?

also guys, i updated my schedule. im not taking ap/ab calc anymore, i was bombing this class. i moved in to honors intnl relations. not showing up on transcript that i took calc but since i sent my apps i have to send letter to college telling them i switchd. how bad will this hurt my chances?

regarding UVM... i just looked at their stats for 2005-2006... 13,015 students applied; 10,439 were admitted; 2,379 enrolled...

i would have to say that it would be nearly impossible for UVM to accept over 10,000 students with GPA's over 3.4 or 3.6 or whatever Worth27 was suggesting...

but i'm glad to hear that UVM is at least spreading that rumor!

REACH - BC
SLIGHT REACH - GW/UMD
MATCH - Syracuse/N'Eastern
MATCH/SAFETY - UConn/Loyola
SAFETY - Vermont

i just sent the letter to colleges saying that im no longer takin calc and im taking honors international relations because thats where my interests are. i figure that getting a D in calc will hurt me more than taking honors intrel getting an A- and not having calc show up on transcript
