I’m honestly just wandering if I even have a slight chance at getting into an ivy league school.

Teacher #1 7/10: AP Biology teacher, I got a good grade but didn’t have a personal connection with her.
Teacher #2 9/10: Tenured English Teacher, exceptional letter (I peeked at it whoops)
Optional Rec: 9/10: Chief Scientific Officer of aforementioned Biotechnology Company
Counselor: 7/10: Described me as an awesome student, one of the best in her career and I hung out in her office a lot so we knew each other pretty well. Mentioned that I took every AP class available excluding language and art classes and took Calc 3 and linear algebra in 11th

First, I’d like to point out that 3.75 is not a low GPA. And please don’t be one of those people who responds with “Oh noooo it’s super low I’m practically a failure.” It’s a bit low for Ivies, but it’s definitely within range.
You have a chance, that’s all anyone can say.
In-state at a UC with your test scores and an average GPA? You should be fine. UCLA and Berkeley are gonna be the two “reaches”, but you could get in. You would fit nicely at UC San Diego and UC Davis too, if they’re on your list. Ivies are a crapshoot no matter how good of a student you are, but you would probably get accepted to a couple.
wowsers allison is dayum brutal as h e double hockey sticks. you will definitely get into UCLA and Berkeley. people on cc need to stop calling ivies a crapshoot, it was kind of witty in the beginning, but now literally eVeryone uses it to describe ivies on every thread on this website. you definitely have a shot at some ivies.
@theofrelord He came on here to ask what his chances were, and I gave it to him. How can I not call Ivies a crapshoot? I saw someone with perfect scores get rejected to every Ivy except Brown because he was a white male from an overrepresented area. Tell me how that’s not a crapshoot. Every year, highly qualified applicants get rejected, so let me know how that isn’t a crapshoot. Did I say he was going to get rejected from every school? No. I said he would get accepted to “a couple” Ivies, and that he could get into all the UCs. Sorry for being honest, I’d want someone to be realistic with me about my chances of getting into a school.
With the URM and scores, I would say you are in at any California state school. Not sure about Ivies. You don’t mention SAT II or AP exam scores. They look for those. Have a good shot at top 30 schools though.
