any input will be appreciated. Thank you

Your chances are extremely low.

First of all, many of the schools you’re applying to aren’t need-blind. Applying for FA, especially as an int’l student, really hurts your chances.

Secondly, international students as a whole are held at a higher standards to begin with.

Lastly, your scores aren’t really up to par for most of the schools you’re looking at.

You might make it into Lafayette, F&M, Hampshire, and St. Lawrence, but I don’t see you having a realistic shot at your other schools.

so what else should I improve to increase my chance at other schools ?

can anyone give me some suggestions and comments ?

can you guys help me ?

Are you talking rigorous like Andover/Eeter? What percent does your school send to ivies? Where are you from and can you pay at least half of costs?

Not really that tough but it is pretty tough. It is generally one of the 2 most rigorous schools in the area. We have kids going to schools like Amherst, Vassar, Princeton,…

Nah, we can pay at around $7000. Then, what is my chance ? Also, can you guys suggest me some other schools that I should add onto the list ?

anyone can help me ?

The ivies, MIT, Pomona are probably unrealistic reaches, they take only so many internationals and have their pick of very high stats students.

Given the amount of money you need, you need to focus on schools where you’re at the very top of their pool, unless you’re from a country they see few applicants from, and that have funds for internationals. I’d post on the international board for suggestions.

Thank you for you suggestions. So do you have any suggestion for me ?

Where are you from?

I am from Vietnam but going to school in the US

anymore suggestion for me please ?

Look at Universities where you are in the top 5%, but are coming up in the rankings (just a general idea). These might give you good aid. Or, apply to a tier 2 school, and see if you get a full-ride.

do you have any specific schools on mind ?

So basically I don’t stand any school for schools on my list ?

wait are you going into gr.11 or 12? did you already repeat junior year or are you oging to?

If you still have 2 more years of highschool, then you can work your ass off fora much higher SAT, enough SAT IIs, and other awards, ECs and stuff, you might have a chance at ivies. However MIT has a 4% int’l quota, so it’s pretty hard.

I am going to be a senior this fall. So what are my chance now ? any suggestions regarding schools ?

to be honest, I suggest going to a lower tier school, so you can get an extraordinary mark in your freshman year of college while paying less, and then transfer to a better one

what is the reason behind your suggestion ? If so, can you give me some schools that I should take a look at ?
