Hey guys, I really need a word of advice.
So I’ve been really fucking up first two years at community college and now I am trying to get back on track.
I was planning on transferring to San Jose State University with graphic design ( apparently this school is really easy to transfer to from my cc) but I want to try harder and try to get into UC Davis with design major.
This is excuse but I have to support myself financially so I am working a lot which has effected a lot with school. Also I was lacking motivation with the previous major I was going for which was Business major. I have lots of W’s…
But since last quarter I’ve been doing well in school getting A’s and by fall I think I can bring up the gpa upto 2.9 or 3.
The TAG minimum for design at UC Davis is 3.2 so I don’t think I can do it this fall. I’m planning on taking like 3 classes during summer which I’m really going to try to get A’s and I’m getting A’s with the current 2 classes I am taking at the moment. Do you guys think I have a chance at getting accepted at UC Davis if I apply this fall? The thing is that the UC and SJSU transfer requirements are different and I think I have to aim for only one if I don’t want to exceed the 120 units. Keep in mind I have lots of W’s…
Should I go for UC Davis and if I don’t get in this time try to bring up the gpa more to aim for TAG next year?
2.9? ummmmm thats a stretch at least make it to a 3.0 gpa then you have a coin toss but you better have hell of a essay because without one omph good luck chances at 3.0 is 50/50 thats my prediction
For UCD last year, the transfer admit GPA range for Design was 3.27-3.77. I would say UCD below a 3.0 is a Reach.
For SJSU, a 2.0+ will get you in.

Apply to UCD and have SJSU as your backup.
