What are my chances? 3.4 GPA, 2290 SAT

Hello everyone,

My unweighted GPA is a 3.39, and my weighted GPA is around a 3.41.

My SAT is a 2290: 770 Critical Reading, 800 Math, 720 Writing. My SAT II for Math 2 is an 800.

I am planning to take the ACT and the SAT II Physics.

I have a lot of extracurricular work such as working at companies, a published paper, and teaching younger kids.

I have an extensive background in computer science, and I am the co-president of the school Computer Science Team.

I am in California, and I am on track to graduate from high school in 2016.

I'd like to know my chances for University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, University of Colorado at Boulder, University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and University of Washington at Seattle.

Thank you.

I think you have a good chance at all of those colleges

Thanks DJFlash. I’d like to major in Computer Science, but I’ve heard that the program at UT Austin, although ranked highly, is not doing well funding-wise and getting classes is very hard.

You will get in for all of those.

You may be accepted by UW-Seattle, but you will probably be placed in the pre-science major. Only students with both a high GPA and a high SAT score (along with good ECs, essays, etc.) are directly admitted to the computer science major.

Manguafuoco,

I’ve got a lot of extracurricular work, such as published papers, volunteer work, leadership activities at school, and company/university work and internship. Do you think that those will help with getting placed into the CS major at UW-Seattle?
