What are my chances and how much financial aid could I possibly get?

<p>I'm a Sudanese senior student (currently in grade 12); I study in Abu Dhabi International School {United Arab Emirates}, one of the middle east's highest reputable schools. I'm a 4.02/4.5 GPA student currently studying 2nd year AP Physics, AP Chemistry, AP Economics and 1st year AP Calculus; I'm planning to sit for all the aforementioned AP exams in 2014 except for Economics. I sat unprepared for the SAT exam in May 4th 2013 and scored 1400 (CR410 M580 WR410), but I signed up for the one on December and I'm studying daily to hopefully score somewhere around1800 which I think is my true potential. My grades throughout middle school haven't been really good (80 average student) however I stood up once I came to 11th grade and pushed my grades up 91 and 92 in both 2 semesters respectively, grades are expected to stay the same in this final school year. I'm 6'5 and I played for the varsity volleyball team grade 10 and 11 and I'm currently captain this year,. I also participate in lots of other extracurricular activities outside school such as marathons and Sport clubs, I also volunteered in the Abu Dhabi Film Festival. I'm heavily obsessed with planes and that's why I want to major in Aerospace Engineering... I've always dreamt of studying abroad in the states in some uni like Georgia Tech caltech etc, basically top unis that are excellent for engineering, but I find it very expensive for an out state student to pay $30K+ per semester or year....... Soon with the details I just provided you with above, what are my chances of getting into those universities and how much financial aid can I possibly get?........ Please excuse my grammar, and I know I didn't type this really well... I typed it in a rush..... I'd really appreciate it if you help and may God bless you.</p>

<p>reach out to coaches if you play competitively. However your odds are probably better at div III where you won’t get an athletic scholarship but rather a need-based scholarship.
How much can your parents afford?
It’s not what they feel they can spend, it’s how much they CAN afford. use the net price calculators to get an idea (enter a US state); then remove all federal grants and loans to have an estimate. This is very imperfect because internationals aren’t treated in the same way as Americans, but it’ll give you an idea of whether you qualify; if you don’t qualify for need-based aid via the NPC, then you definitely receive nothing as an international. Then realize that asking for financial aid divides your odds in two compared to the usual odds.
So, first question, how much can you afford?
With a 1800 SAT it’ll be hard to get into an engineering school even though there may be some leeway since English isn’t your first language; you should not attempt engineering if you don’t score at least 600 for the Math section, and just to function decently you need at least 500 CR. For someone with decent grades and taking AP classes, that’d be quite low and would put your entire grading system and quality of instruction into question, as admission officers would have trouble reconciling “an A student who takes AP classes” with a score of 1100 CR+M ( a 1300+ is expected).
Good schools for men’s volleyball include schools as diverse as Juniata, UC-SC, Nazareth, New Paltz, NYU, Springfield, and Vassar. At a higher level of competition, you have UC Irvine, BYU, Penn state, Loyola Chicago.
Look into PINYU and WPI?</p>
