I go to a nys accredited private catholic school.
I've worked at Wegmans for 2 years now 15-25 hours a week.
Went to National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine in San Francisco

Very underprivileged family, first to go to a four year school, youngest of four.
Got accepted to LeMoyne already with a Dean's scholarship.

Your SAT score seems rather low for what they seem to accept, plus you seem to be in-state. Unless you can get them to look past the SAT it will be tough.

Yeah it's an 1180, it's on the cusp of their average score of 1200.
It's the same with my ACT score, a 25, it's right at the edge of their average 26.
I'm hopeful, but the news of how critical they were with the early action decisions is starting to freak me out.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but their avg. SAT is 1275 and avg. ACT is 29. I think you were looking at the middle 50% figures which means that only 25% of applicants were admitted with a score below 1200. 75% scored higher than a 1200.

It is best to check directly on Binghamton's web site about stats like that because certain third party vendors (college viewbooks, princeton review, etc.) release publications with outdated info.

Standardized testing sucks. I scored a 1220 SAT, have a 94.5 GPA,ranked 18/180 at a really competitive HS, great ECs, varsity athlete, empowering essay,20hr/week job and the majority of my classes throughout high school were AP/honors. Last year I might have had a chance but I am not expecting to be admitted this year basically due to my SATs (State schools tend to place A LOT of emphasis on GPA and SATS/ACTS).

I was really bummin' but I put things into perspective which help me realize I am more than just a test score. If I somehow get in, then great but if I don't, I know and will be successful at another institution. Good luck.

Do you think SUNYs put more weight in the SATs rather than the GPA??

Caffeine,

Have you applied to other SUNYs? CuNYs?

I was told the breakdown for most SUNY schools is the following:

50% GPA
30% SAT/ACT
10% Course Rigor
10% Extra Curricular, Essay and Recommendations

Hmm... I would say that you have a somewhat decent chance.

meow.
I says you in.
cause if you not in.
i be sad. who will live in UP with me!?

I was defered with a 33 act/2200 sat and have not heard of anyone getting in early action without at least a 1300. Good luck but dont get your hopes up.

if your instate which you seem to but, it's going to be really hard to get in with that SAT this year in particular. Good luck. You never know!
