I know i should aim high but these are the colleges I'm looking into:
University of Connecticut
Boston College
Boston University
Barnad College
...................

well, how was your psat scores? Your EC look good but u might need some more leadership roles. You should also try to join a sport and join a musical group. You have a pretty good shot at BC and BU but Barnard is a reach

I will be the voice of disagreement here. Only join these things if they are of interest to you. Colleges would rather see your passion for ECs that are interesting to YOU than see a laundry list of ECs taken for the sake of taking them.

If it were me, I'd be working on improving my GPA. You have not mentioned class rank, but that could affect your chances at even UConn which has become much more competitive for even instate students in recent years. If you are in the top 30% you'll be ok for UConn. If your can raise that GPA and do well on the SATs your chances will improve at the other schools you have on your list. At this point, I would venture they are in the reachy range...but you are a junior with a chance to improve those stats.

while your grades are a little low you have greact ec's and colleges will take soemone interesting over soemone with good stats any day. So if you write a good essay, and maybe privide a reason for you working so much( i dont know what your financial situation is) i think that you have a good shot at the places.

But anyway, my PSAT scores were somewhat in the middle range, nothing impressive. I dont think joining a sport as a junior and only play for 2 years is a good idea. I am considering joining lacrosse but i think i should really focus on getting my grades up.

The reason i work so much is because i work at my parents resturant. bummer.

I think you should focus on your grades, because like you said your job is your main EC. I definitely think you should apply to Barnard. Liberal arts schools look at the whole person, not just test scores. However, I would buy Collegeboard's 10 real SATs this summer and study to raise your scores by senior year. Good luck!

They will take the fact that you work into account. Sounds as if you like large urban schools. Pace, Fordham, and Northeastern may be worth looking at. Look for some safety schools, also.

Hi guys. I would like some advice about my chances at colleges.
