What are my chances at Brown, Oberlin, Wesleyan, and Vassar?

I'm new to this website, and I'm not exactly sure I can or am qualified to "chance you back," but I would really appreciate if someone would give me an idea of what kind of chances I have at these schools. After looking at all of these high-achieving students, I'm starting to think these schools (save Brown) aren't quite the match I thought them to be. I know Brown is a reach, but I always figured the other three were fairly well within my grasp.

My stats are:
SAT I: 710 Critical Reading, 670 Math, 760 Writing (will take these again in the fall)
SAT II: 770 World History (taking Bio or Chem, US History, and Lit in a few days)
ACT: 33 (English 35, Math 28 [didn't realize there was precalc on the test, will do at least a point or so better next go around], 34 Reading, 33 Science, 33 Combined English/Writing)
GPA: 3.9 (This is weighted, but once next years grades go in this will be a 4.2)
Ethnicity: White
Extracurriculars: Part time job 20-25 hours per week (This takes up the majority of my time after school and hopefully won't be considered a "Bad" extracurricular), Editor in Chief of high school newspaper, SkillsUSA, Beta Club, Volunteer work at Rescue Mission, Global Youth Service Day, will participate next year in an internship (likely in a hospital setting)

AP Classes: World History (5), Taking US History and English Language in a few weeks

Next year's courseload: AP Calculus AB, AP Chemistry, AP English Literature, Physics, Psychology/Sociology, Journalism

Thanks for your time!

Hello…anyone out there? I’ll chance back with what I know. I know a lot about the schools in the Virginia area if that helps anyone.

What are your interests? I think we need more information to comment. As far as ranking these schools in terms of difficultly of gaining acceptance, it would be Brown, then Vassar, with Wesleyan and Oberlin tied for third.

^^

Wes and Vassar are about the same difficulty. Keep in mind Wes’s admissions rate has one WAY down in the last two years.

I would say that the only thing issue is that you don’t have any special EC’s. Try getting some leadership in clubs or something. Try starting a future health careers club perhaps.

Well, if by interests you mean career/goals in life-related ones, then I have a few. My main interest right now is helping other people/animals. I’m also possibly interested in “green careers.” I’m pretty devoted to human rights, animal rights, and environmental issues. I’m a committed ethical vegan and love everything about veganism. Actually, many of my idols are involved in teaching animal rights/law, are vegan cooks, or are otherwise involved in animal rights causes. All in all, I’m very interested in liberal, progressive movements in general and I’m a very far-left leaning person (at least according to my and Southwestern Virginian standards). This is a great part of why I’m interested in the schools I listed. In high school, I had a long run with the field of journalism/mass communications and I’m still fairly interested in it, but recently discontinued an extracurricular involving writing for a local town’s paper’s teen section in order to make room for an internship at a hospital and/or possible additional community service hours. I also just dropped out of a program called the Center for Mass Communications in order to make room for such classes as AP Chemistry and AP Calculus AB at my home school next year. (I take classes for Mass Communications at a separate school)

The idea of starting a club does sound enticing, but I’m not quite sure what club I would create that would attract enough people to make it a reality. All of my interests are pretty different from a lot of people in my school, save a few of my friends. I could make a club focused on animal rights, but the faculty may look down on creating something like that and I doubt I would be able to find a sponsor teacher. Anything vastly political or to the far-left would also not find much support among the students. Health careers is an idea, but that would involve a large part of my class, and I wouldn’t know what such a club would do. So, I’m kind of lost at what I could do, not to mention that I only have one month and a year left before college, so any club I created wouldn’t have much time to stabilize and form a grounding foundation.

Hope this helps you guys. I’m open to any suggestions on improving my credentials.
