I’m applying to UVA, Boston University, George Washington University, Northeastern University, and Virginia Tech. Chance me for these schools?

GPA: 4.18 W, 3.98 UW

SAT: 1350, 670 math 680 reading

Gender: Female

Demographics: South Asian (Bengali - immigrated to US at 4 y/o, parents received out-of country college education)

Potential Major: Chemistry? (undecided, something science related)

Courses:

  • All honors 9th and 10th grade
  • 3 APs in 11th grade (APUSH, AP Physics, AP Psych)
  • 4 APs in 12th grade (AP Bio, AP Chem, AP Gov, AP Calc AB)

Recommendations: 1 counselor, 1 teacher (well known)

EC’s: (lacking bc I changed high schools every year until junior year)

  • Track (only one year)
  • Dance (since forever)
  • School newspaper (sophomore year)
  • Key Club (started junior year - present)
  • FBLA (freshman year, no other school I went to had the club)
  • Performances and organizing events for a local community organization (started June 2016 to present)
  • Volunteer and recruit/work at a tech company
  • NHS, Math Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society

EC’s are solid but nothing especially impressive, your GPA looks good. Are you a VA resident? If so, Tech and UVA are in the target area and GW is probably more safe than those two. Boston may be a low reach if you aren’t a Mass resident.
