Hi Guys! I’m from Argentina, I am going to apply for Cooper Union this year and my major will be Civil Engineering. My SAT scores were: 710 on Maths, 640 on Critical Reading and 600 on Writing (though I believe they don’t take writing in account), my SAT Subjects were: 720 on Maths II, 710 on Maths I, 800 Spanish and 680 Physics. My GPA is 7.83 out of 10 and the passing grade is 6, in an extremely competitive and grade-deflating school where I am top 20%. Last but not least, I’ve done plenty of community work.
So, without any mercy, do you think I will be accepted? What should I improve?
Also, it would be great if any grad of current ugrad at Cooper could tell their experience there and some “tips” if I enter.
Thanks!!
0.1% chance. There’s practically no way you’re getting into Cooper Union with those stats.
I don’t think you have a chance. Cooper Union has one of the lowest acceptance rates in the country. There are plenty of great schools that you will be able to get into for civil engineering. You could check out Stevens, as it is close in proximity to NYC and also a great school.
