Hi,
What do you guys think my chances are at getting accepted to Cornell, Penn, and Princeton?

I attend Lawrence County High School in eastern Kentucky which is ranked 10th out of the 10 worst high schools in KY...10th being the best..... yeah not very good i know....

I have a cummulative 4.0 GPA--- I've gotten a 4.0 my sophomore and junior years... but as a freshman I had a 3.83 GPA....

I took honors english, and visual art 1 as a sophomore (along with other classes), AP History, English 3, Pre-Cal, Chemistry and Spanish 3 and Art 2 as a junior----and am currently taking AP Calculus, AP Biology, AP English, and Art 3 as a senior.

I received a 5 on all of the AP tests I've taken.

So what do you guys think?
thanks!

can u get recruited?

What do you mean?

Anybody??????

Cornell-Reach
Penn-Reach
Princeton- Uber reach

Living in Kentucky helps a little but it's still a toss up

im sick of these 4.0'ers.

really really really low matches at all of them

Class rank and breakdown of SAT scores?

princeton- match
upenn- match/safety
cornell- safety
tranny- match

I think you should take your SAT's again and get above a 2200....your E.C's are great

yeah kentucky helps...Cornell and Penn are possibly low matches..P'ton's a reach. Bumping up the SATs 100 pts or so would do wonders for you, considering the fact that you have very nice ecs.

oh, and i second amptron2x.

Change that:

Cornell- match/little bit of a safety
Penn- low reach if you apply RD, and even less of a reach if you apply ED
Pton- SUPER DUPER ULTRA MEGA GIGANTIC REACH

i'll be a little more generous on penn and prınceton,

penn- ED high match
prınceton- rech (not uber or super duper, etc.)

I'm in the top 5 percent of my class...

ummm...... i think that you can get accepted to cornel, but a reach for penn and princeton

Michelle: yeah, but your school stinks

Just to let you know, because your school might not be as good as others in your state, your achievements (top 5%, etc) are taken with more precaution than that a person from a very competitive school.

So, to show that you are "good" and not just an average person in a bad school, you should definitely try to improve your SAT I scores and get good (>750s) on SAT II's. Additionally, take advantage of as many honors/AP's as you can.

Good luck :)
