What are my chances at Duke?

<p>Please be brutally honest. If you don't think I can make it to Duke, what other colleges do you think I could possibly make?</p>

PSAT - 232/240 (National Merit Finalist)
SAT - 2280/2400
SAT II - Math (800), Chemistry (780)
Volunteer - 200 Hours
Classes - AP Human Geography, AP US History, AP Spanish IV, AP Psychology, AP Biology, AP English III & IV, AP European History, AP Calculus, AP Government, AP Economics
EC's - Marching Band (Drumline), Boy Scouts (Patrol Leader), NHS (Member)</p>

<p>i don't think your rank is that bad out of 1300. You're definitely in the runnings</p>

<p>wow you have an enormous grade..I think your rank, however is fine because out of 1300 kids, its about 8% percentile which isn't too shabby. the only weak area of your app i think is your lack of EC's which I think it's too late to do anything about now so just hope for the best. Did you apply early, btw?</p>

<p>A few questions before I make a prediction - What is your location and race? Also, are you ED or RD, and is the GPA weighted or unweighted (and what scale)?</p>

<p>You have good numbers. You dont need to worry about your rank since you're in the top 10th percentile. Your EC's will hurt your applciation a lot.</p>

<p>Your Lack of ECs isn't good for Duke....you don't seem like a "person" to me just looking at your post...add something personal, that makes you more well-rounded, not simply a list of numbers....that is, if there is anything behind the numbers :)</p>

<p>Where else to look: I don't know how Blue Devil crazy you are...but I'd look at UNC.</p>

<p>You'll make it. You should do some more afterschool activities. Makes you look like you did that all with less time on your hand. The more the better.</p>

<p>Well, admissions is more interested in a specific passion than a long list of assorted ECs, so if drumline is your thing and you tie it in to why you need Duke/Duke needs you, then you have a decent shot.</p>
