I’m going to begin my senior year and was wondering what are my chances of getting into Emerson for a degree in Writing,Literature,Publishing or Communications.
1.Academics: I top my class(commerce stream,cbse board,india)
Expected Percentage in class 11:94-95%
SAT Score-1940( will be giving once again in may to improve scores)
We are not offered AP classes in India but do have the option of giving the examinations so i will be giving APs in English next may.
2.ECs.
Obtained State rank 1 and international rank 15 in International Olympiad for English Language
Performed at the Beginner’s and Advanced levels For Shiamak Davar’s Summer and Winter Funks
Obtained an orange belt in Karate
Completed a certificate/diploma course in Kathak(Indian dance form) However, this is about a decade old so i doubt it holds importance.
Completed the UCMAS diploma and stood 4th in a regional competition
Participated in 2 MUNs and successfully represented the countries of Morocco and France
Made contributions and volunteer work to Helpage India(Again really old and may not hold importance)
I have a lot of social work and volunteering planned for this year
I have a blog and a youtube channel(not sure if this is counted)
Danced and sung in several annual functions
Part of the Art Committee in the Class Assembly and Farewell
Awards
1.Academic Excellence(twice)
2.Proficiency in Flute
I believe that my academics are strong but ECs not so much. If emerson doesn’t prove to be within my reach are there any other colleges that you would suggest?
