What are my chances at georgetown

I am a white male from a competetive private school in Tampa Fl. I am in the top 10% of my class with a 4.0 GPA unweighted and will have 5 APs by the time I graduate. My SAT and ACT score however are not great.

SAT I: Writing-690
Verbal- 680
Math-570
ACT- 30
SAT II: Bio-740
US History- 800
Math 570
I am on the editorial staff of the yearbook and have done MUN for 4 years. Also I have been a Writing Center tutor for 4 years and a science tutor for 1.
I was the co-head usher at my school for 2 years and was on the JV soccer team for 2.

Georgetown is never an easy in. You don't have a whole lot of ECs. You have really nice grades, but your SATs are WAY lacking. Take a course and lock those tests up+ you have a good chance. I hope you have a fallback plan aka safeties + matches.

Agree, Gtown will be hard but might look at another Jesuit school-Holy Cross which is easier to get into.

sorry
My math SAT I- 640
I think that I fit into the middle SAT range on their data sheet.

I've also volunteered for a local political candidate and have interests in the culinary arts and pre-columbian history both of which will be prevalent in my essays.

I also perform about 110 hours of community service a year
Member of the Spanish Club for 3 years and a school guide my junior year (only time available)
And was a soccer ref for two years
And this past year went on the GYLC trip and participated in the Duke talent identification mini-intro class

Does that help at all?

slim chance, your SATs are low no matter what the sheet says. frankly the low scorers like do incredible stuff. you're average w/ low scores

What a considred good scores for Georgetown?

slim to none.

700+

closer to none

Georgetown will not be reviewing the Writing portion of the new SAT for a couple of years, so your writing score won't help at all.

it is impossible to get into georgetown with a 1200, like do you guys think its unheard of?

It happens, but generally only to URMs/people with unbelivable ECs/super athletes/children of library-donors. Take a prep class. It'll do you good.

thanks for replying

Side note: what does a co-head usher do?

ushers take care of the theater during performances

also, my SAT I is 1320 and ACT is 30 , comparable 1320-1350 on the SAT I

Yeah I know that, but I was wondering whether being co-head usher is an honor or something. Like whether you do anything different.

it could be, you're just in charge of maybye 5-10 other people and go to performances and make sure everything runs smoothly

If your EC's is better, you will become a member of georgetown.
good luck!

georgetown Middle 50% of
First-Year Students Percent Who
Submitted Scores
SAT Reasoning Verbal: 640 - 740 83%
SAT Reasoning Math: 640 - 730 83%
ACT Composite: 27 - 32 22%

I've just started my senior year, my high school is 40-60 min away and I cannot drive. Does anybody have any suggestions for improving my ECs?

My friend got a 1470 on his SAT's, had like 8 AP's when he graduated, varsity tennis, debate, etc. and was flat-out rejected from g-town...if that gives you a good example of how hard it is to get in. I'm a legacy and I'm not applying, with my "measly" 30 on the ACT's lol.....I can still dream.

Harvard also rejects 1600s (i guess now 2400)
I know somebody who was not in the top 10% get into WashU but not UF.
