What are my chances at Georgia Tech and Rutgers?

Okay so right now i feel like a failure. I feel like i wont get into a good college and need some motivation. My grades right now are As and Bs. My Weighted GPA at the moment is 4.1 unweight is somewhere at 3.4 or 3.5 I plan on getting my GPA up to 3.75 by senior year and want to go to a good computer science college. I took 3-4 honors classes freshman and sophmore year and now im starting junior year. My goal for SAT is 2200+ hoping for perfect score but everyone does. My ECs are Gifted and Talented, Volunteered at hospital, National Honor Society, E.R.A.S.E, HOSA (video project), chess club, and Class Rep. Sports i plan on joining are tennis, track, and volleyball. The highschool I go to is a Vocational High school ( PCTI) and i take Computer science there, and i've always had a A+ in that class. I really need some tips and motivation because i feel like an utter failure and would appreciate some input. Thanks.

bump please?

You will be fine. I had a 3.7 GPA in highschool, a 1250 (out of 1600) on the SAT - not as good as you. I was president of Habitat for Humanity, on the baseball team, was in TAG and had an internship, and was in NHS. I got into GA Tech for Electrical Engineering, but decided not to go. I’m entering my senior year at Valparaiso University in Indiana. I didnt go to tech because GA Tech is 30min from where I live, i like smaller classes (my EE class was at 60 freshman year and now is down to 17), and I can actually know my professors on a personal basis, not having to worry about being just another number. My older sister got into Rutgers for Meteorology and ended up going to Valpo as well. She had a similar track record and a lot better SAT score. You will be fine. Here is some advice: Enjoy your senior year. Computer science is a lot of meticulous programing and the rigor is similar to engineering. I’ve taken 4 CS classes at Valpo. Enjoy high school!

I almost forgot to add. If you get into Tech, go. If you live in Gerogia you can get the HOPE scholarship (which you might loose after freshman year, lots of my friends lost it, because tech is tough- not saying you will but keep that in mind). I got a presidential scholarship from Valpo but I still had to take out loans. Tech will also give you a lot of opportunities for jobs because the school has a lot of prestige. Hey, why not take a look at Valpo lol? Just kidding you wouldn’t want to go up to northwest Indiana. weather sucks. Valpo is known for EE and ME which is why I went there. 100% placement rates with the EE department.

thanks man :] anymore input from other people would help :]

I think you’ll get into RU, GT might be a little tough, but if you get a 2100/2200 (which is very tough) I think you’ll get into both. And you can always go to one and try to transfer to a more prestigious school if thats what you really want
