I also have a strong essay.

I applied before the November 1st deadline and I applied with my 20 ACT, since then I've gotten a 1570 SAT and it was sent there via collegeboard...How will that work out? Will they reconsider the 20 ACT ?

Also, I'm ranked #2 in my class, will I get the Legacy Scholarship?

you should definally be accepted great job!

You’re in, for sure.

Idk if you got in or not, but you need an ACT between 26-28.

For the Legacy Scholarship, but you should for sure get in.:)

Nevermind, your SAT score will do. I hope you’re enjoying Howard!

wow, i thought this post was deleted by the mod’s like 5 months ago lol…but yeah, since writing this I got a 1660/2400 SAT, a 3.5 gpa, and I was accepted with the legacy scholarship lol…I’m going there this August to major in accounting :D

.congratulations ! Tell me how it goes

I have a quick question, I’m in a rigorous program and only take AP, honors, pre-IB, or IB classes. Consequently my uw gpa is 3.25 (-_-) and my weighted is 4.17 (1/4+ pt for honors/pre-IB classes, 1/2+ pt for IB/AP classes) . My question is, will they give me a pass for my uw gpa if I qualify for scholarships through my test scores? I got a 29 last time, but I took it again so hopefully I get a 32. Thanks for any input, you guys.

just from being familiar with howard’s admissions process and with some of the people on the selection committee…they value standardized test scores more than they do gpas…now i don’t know how that will correlate with the scholarship committee there, but I also do hear that they are pretty stern with the guidelines

Wow, my SAT score exactly! Haha congratulations! Did you apply early action?

yeah, i applied early action, but I applied with my 1570 opposed to my 1660 and I still received a scholarship (because of rank)

It you don’t mind answering @908kiddo, what were your combined math and critical reading scores? I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be nosy, but I’m getting nervous because I’m applying to Howard within the next couple days. I got my score to a 1780, but with those two combined I have 1150, but the site says you need a 1170 minimum for the legacy scholarship.:/
