I have a strong interest in business and computer science. I hope to work in the intersections in the two fields. I'm thinking of majoring in Business and Econ where business isn't offered while pursuing a minor in CS. I like Econ and Business equally and am under the impression that in the recruiting process, if there is a business school, undergrad business school > econ major. Case in point Berkeley and Michigan.

I'd like to apply ED to either Northwestern or Cornell and am having trouble deciding between the two. I visited both and liked both equally. All things seem to be equal between the two (difficulty of getting in, recruiting prospects, large Greek presence). Thoughts? To be clear, I really like both schools. I think I will also be applying EA to Chicago and Michigan.

Please chance me for EA UMichigan Ross Preferred Admit BBA program (OOS), Northwestern ED (Econ), Cornell ED (Econ), EA UChicago (Econ), and UC Berkeley (Econ/Business/CS) also OOS.

Good luck to all during the application process!

You should be high match for UMich LSA but reach for Ross pre-admit.

What do you think can be done between now and the application due date to increase my chances at Ross? Better test scores? More business related EC’s?

My suggestion is apply to UMich EA for Ross pre-admit. If not accepted, you will be automatically considered for LSA. In the meantime, work hard to improve your GPA as much as you can although it would not be drastic different. In case you get deferred, your first semester GPA may bring your overall GPA above 3.9. Also, essays are very important too. Find something to proofread it and give you some suggestions. If you have already planned to retake ACT, go ahead. Otherwise, I would not spend time on it at this point as you already have a score at the 75th percentile for admission. Nevertheless, higher ACT score may help you to get scholarships if you are pretty sure you can get a higher score. ACT at 34 is not likely to get you any scholarship as at least 25% admitted students have that score.

Chicago: Reach
NW, Cornell: Decent chances
Michigan and UCB: Great chances
