What are my chances at Northwestern?

I've never done this before but:

GPA: 4.0
Class Rank: 1st
ACT composite: 29 (That was last year, I'm retaking them this spring)

My high school doesn't do AP classes, but I'm in the advanced math and English classes

We do have college credit classes (if that means anything), so I have or will have taken at the college level: accounting, business law, contemporary business, intro to stats, math for liberal arts, intro to lit, comp I & II, art appreciation, and psychology. I might take some online classes that would be: principles of sociology, environmental science, astronomy, intro to religion, and intro to philosophy.

School Activities: group speech, individual speech, school drama, jazz band, pep band, marching band, and concert band. I've lettered in all of those activities, and gone to state in group speech, individual speech, and jazz band. In marching band I'm one of the drum majors and in concert band I'm section leader and on the leadership team. In band my main instrument is French horn, but I also play trumpet, baritone, saxophone, and mellophone.

Outside of school I'm heavily involved in three different community theatres. I've acted in 10 productions and been backstage in 12, I've taken acting classes and I get professional vocal lessons (next year I'm going to start going to competitions and other events for that). I also have 180 community service hours with many more to come.

If I visit it and really like it I'll most likely apply early decision. So do you think I could get in? Also, do you think I could get into any other comparable universities? Or even Ivy league? (I'm not really expecting that, I'm just wondering) Thanks!

What do you plan on majoring in?

Acting with a double major in History, English, or Psychology (I haven’t decided) and maybe a certificate in musical theatre (I’m not sure how that works yet)

Oh, I see. Well, I think your GPA is great. A 29 is a little low, but an acceptance “might” come. Of course, you should increase it to increase your chances. Your ECs show your passion and tie with your major.

Try to bring up your ACT score by 2-3 points for a better chance.

I would say that as of now it is a stretch. You have great ECs and a flawless GPA, but your ACT score right now may hold you back. You should definitely take it again and try to get a 31 or 32 or even better. Still, I do think it is in reach for you because you seem very well rounded and like you fit the northwestern persona. Good Luck!

Please chance me!

I like your chances. ACT is a little low, but activities match.
