Thanks in advance for making this difficult process a bit easier.

To be honest, the reason I have such a low GPA when contrasted to my other scores was because of my mediocre freshman year. My overall average was something like an 88, due to the fact that I didnt realize how serious the whole process was, and transition from middle school life to high school life was difficult for me. In my GPA, I only count my core classes, and not classes such as Orchestra, Survey of Comedies, or Science Research (Which are weighed the same amount as say, Calc BC). When NYU looks at my GPA on the transcript (Around a 91 or 92), which includes my joke courses, will they remove those from the equation? I also always wondered if colleges cared more about the overall GPA than how you performed in each class.

I would probably put the highest gpa you have on your application..it can't hurt..if the college wants..they can reweight it..i also think u have a great shot at Stern. A girl at my school with 1450 SAT's good leadership/ ec's, no sports, and gpa in %10 got in ED if that helps at all

A 90 average is not a 3.5. Also, I think schools keep your joke classes into your average. So a 91/92 is more AROUND 3.7, which is good and about average for NYU Stern. That combined with an excellent SAT score and your nice E.Cs gives you a very nice chance. Good Luck!
