I plan on applying to NYU's summer program at New York City for film, and I will be applying ED to the college come this fall.

It is hard to accurately predict chances for NYU film. I can however, tell you the things to do to increase your chances. If you get into the summer program that will be a big help so make sure you do a very good job on your application. I was in it this past summer and all the people in my class who applied ED got in. Other then that, raise that GPA as much as you can and make sure you have a demanding schedule next year. As many APs as you think you can handle(if your school offers them). Keep up your EC and try and land a few leadership positions. I hope this helps, good luck!

Yeah, I definitely want to get into that summer program. Getting into Future Filmmakers definitely boosted by confidence.

I probably should have posted schedule rigor:

AP World Year (Sophomore Year)
AP Bio (Junior Year)
AP Stat (Junior Year)
AP American History (Junior Year)
AP Art History (Senior Year)
AP English (Senior Year)
AP European History (Senior Year)

I have straight As in all my English and Social Sciences classes.

However, I have consistent Cs in second language, and fluctuating B/Cs in both math (Two years advanced) and science (One year advanced.)

I have a bunch more of ECs, but the ones I listed are the ones I really cared about. I've played violin for about eight years, but I've never really put my heart into it.

Oh yeah, I also was involved with the production of a commercial for the SUNY Professors Teachers Union.

Thanks a bunch sdsparks.

If anyone wants to add anything else, feel free :)

I'm no admissions officer, but I was accepted to film and tv with an 1850 SAT, 3.7 W GPA, a few extra curriculars, and a pretty good essay and reccomendations. I'm almost sure the reason I was accepted was because 50% of the admission is the portfolio. I think it was pretty good. So, relax you look very promising (much better than myself, score wise) but just go with it, and make sure you application is money. good luck by way...
