I know that my SAT and my GPA are a bit below Pitts standards, but will my EC’s make up for it/perhaps my race(not that i’m solely banking on that)? I have more EC’s than I mentioned up there but for some reason CC wouldn’t let me post it. I have family at Pitt already. I went to Ready, Set, Pitt in June 2011.

I applied around October 7th-ish and it said that my application was complete on October 11. I haven’t heard from them yet, maybe that’s because they were waiting for my November 5th SAT scores(which were sent on 11/20)?

Please let me know what you think, Pitt is my first choice.

I had a 3.9 UW gpa, a 4.2 weighted and a 22 ACT (superscore) and a 1570/2400 on my SAT with tons of volunteer work and EC and I didn’t get into Pitt Main for the 2012 fall semester. They offered me admission to a branch instead. But it’s hard to tell what Pitt is looking for with certain people. Everybody is different. I think anybody has a chance. I know people with lower stats than both you and I who got into Pitt Main (which makes me scratch my head a bit). So I’m definitely in no way saying you won’t get in.

I think, and also have been told, that Pitt is unpredictable.
Good luck, I hope you get in!

The SAT and ACT scores in this thread are significantly below the 25th percentile for Pitt main campus. Branches should be fine, but main campus would be a huge reach. If you know folks that were accepted at main campus with scores in this range, they must have had truly exceptional nonacademic achievements or serious hooks

True. I think many people said Pitt really looks for a minimum 1200 CR+M (600 each). To not have though is a huge factor in whether or not you will get into Main. Most likely you will go to a branch, but you can always apply to transfer after a year if you get good grades.
