I want to apply to Stanford Early Action, but I'm not sure if my EA chances are going to be better than applying Regular. Any advice?

Thanks!

Honestly, about 99% of Stanford applicants have a stats sheet like yours, so while you certainly have a good chance, there's a large element of chance and luck as well. My only real thought on this is I believe that the Stanford admissions department looks for dedication, passion, and involvement in a select few activities/areas moreso than an all-rounder student. This makes sense, cause many people obviously list activities and hobbies that they have done simply to pad their apps (myself included). On the other hand, if you are particularly passionate about a specific activity, hobby, cause, that is more likely to stand out. Remember, nearly everyone applying to Stanford has maxed out on AP classes, has sky-high SAT scores, is (or is near) the top of their class, and has several extra cirriculars, so just think....what is going to make you stand out from the rest?

I totally agree with stanford_07. In your essays is where you can show who you are. Tell a story about what you've learned from your activities. Just being in a lot of clubs and having good stats won't get you in; showing how you feel about your activities and how you have grown because of them will.

in the running, but you're gonna need something (probably in your essays) to jump out at the adcom to get in
