Hey guys! I just want to know if you think I have a good chance at stevens, and if I should do early decision (I know it's binding) or regular decision. The middle 50% for combined SAT scores at stevens are 1210 - 1380. I got a 1230 (730 math 500 CR). The average GPA at stevens is 3.8, I will have about a 3.4-3.5 by the end of my first semester of senior year in high school. I was in the marching band and the clarinet ensemble for 4 years, and I'm also 100% Mexican. Here are my grades so far in HS.

Do you think Stevens will accept me? I have decent grades but good math grades and a good math SAT score. Do you think since it's a technology school they'll put more emphasis on my math scores? Thanks.

I’m not 100% positive but seeing that you’ve shown improvement your senior year, and that you’ve been doing well in your math classes, I think you stand a good chance. Remember, just because you’re not up to par with the mid 50% of students doesn’t mean your chances dip down to zero.

If you’re positive you want to go to Stevens the most and not another one, then go ahead and ED. If there are other schools you’d rather go to, remember that if you ED Stevens and make it you will not be able to go to a different college.

You’ll likely have a better chance of being accepted if you ED, though.

It says Spanish 3 H, which means Spanish 3 Honors. Even if you don’t have Spanish 3 Honors at your school it doesn’t mean other schools are the same.

I think your race definitely helps you. You have a shot, but still don’t set yourself up for disappointment (in case that happens). I hope you get in!

My bad haha. I just adore this school so much that I can’t see myself going anywhere else. Hopefully my good math sat and my race will ensure I get accepted !!!

My suggestion is to keep your options open and look into other schools in case if you don’t get accepted or they don’t give you enough money to make Stevens affordable for you. I assume you are from NJ. You may also want to look into NJIT, Rutgers, and Rowan. The school name does not matter much for undergraduate studies in engineering and computer science as long as the program is accredited. You will most likely learn as much from the other three schools as you would from Stevens.
