I’m 72/561 in my class, my SAT CR+MATH is 1260 & my composite is 1880, & my GPA is a 3.26. I’ve been a cheerleader all 3 years (I’m a junior) but don’t really have many EC’s. I’ve only done Interact Club for one year but I’m gonna do it again next year. I won two gold medals at my regional art competition this year & one gold at state. I have a few community service hours but I’m not quite sure where my log is… (20-25 hrs?). I’ll be taking the ACT in June (been studying for that 30) & I wanted to retake my SAT & hopefully get a 1300 for CR+Math to get automatic admission, except they don’t offer the test during the summer obviously. How are my chances? & Would it be better to wait, retake the SAT at the beginning of the school year, hope it’s 1300 & apply then? Or can the application & score sending be done at completely different times? I really don’t want to wait until the last minute. If I apply in August without the new SAT score, would they already have looked me over before I get a chance to send the new score to possibly get automatic? A&M is my dream school. I went to Aggieland Saturday if that counts for anything on the application.
Do you live in Texas and are you on track to complete all the recommended courses?
Yes to both of those questions. I took all pre-AP classes (except electives) freshman & sophomore year. This year I am taking two dual credit & two pre-AP core classes. Art this year was pre-AP as well. I’m going to take dual again next year, & an AP math class. @albert69
You have a great rank, good SAT score, and good extracurricular activities. While this may near the safe zone, you may still want to improve your SAT just in case because you don’t know how well the pool of applicants are this year and the competitiveness of a particular major.
