I will chance back if you provide link to your post!! thanks

You have AMAZING ECs and out of school activities. Your courseload is great, and your GPA is good. Your SATs can be brought up higher though; definitely get somewhere in the 2100s or higher and aim for a 700+ on each section.

Upenn - low reach
Duke - high match
Wake Forest - match
Georgetown - low reach
Emory - match
Davidson - high match
UGA Honors - don’t know enough about it to give you an accurate evaluation
Northwestern - match
UChicago - reach (it’s a reach for everyone)

Everything looks good
except Duke and UPenn
those are reaches

chance back

Thanks, Anyone else care to Chance me??? I will chance back if you provide the link to your submission!!

UPenn
Duke
Northwestern
UChicago

^^These schools will be the more challenging admissions, but you have solid credentials and a good chance of admission to 1 or more.

Wake Forest
Georgetown
Emory
Davidson
UGA Honors

^^ These schools will present you an excellent chance for positive admission outcomes

Thanks for the chance! Anyone else care to respond? I’ll chance back!

Bump!!!

I am not very familiar with your ECs, but the way you write about them it seems like they very impressive. But i agree, your sats can be brought up. What impressess me is your Spanish 3. Cause spanish to me is the hardest class ever - _ - harder than calculus and general college physics. How do you manage? Do you naturally get it or do you have supplemental material like Rosetta stone?

Wow, you have a huge class! Your grades seem good-apush really is a killer
sat’s could go up a bit, did you try to do calc on the math portion-I did on the psat…
Your ecs look good to, knock the essay out of the park and everything but uchicago, upenn and duke should be easy, those schools are reaches for everybody : (
Good Luck though!

Chance me please?
it’s: Lacking ecs?

My Top Schools are: Upenn, Duke, Wake Forest, Georgetown, Emory, Davidson, UGA Honors, Northwestern, UChicago

Penn - Reach
Duke - Reach
Georgetown - Reach
Northwestern - Reach
UChicago - Reach
Emory - Match
Wake Forest - Match
UGA Honors - Match
Davidson - Match

Your scores are not quite comparable to those of typical applicants at many of your reach schools. I would suggest studying hard to improve them. If you want to be competitive at the reaches you’re going to want to boost your score into the 2200s on the SAT I and have your subject tests be in the 700s as well.

As I’m not familiar with SLU and only took a cursory glance at their website, I feel that if it is chiefly listening to speakers and not much else, it will be viewed as an income-based experience that is good for essays and not much else (NSHSS comes to mind). Correct me if I’m wrong on what actually goes on there, seeing as you’ve been there for three years.

You are a shoo-in at Northwestern and Chicago as they have much higher acceptance rates than the other schools on the list. This is in part due to the cold weather in Chicago and the nerdy reputation on UChicago students. In addition, being from Georgia makes you less interesting to Duke and Georgetown, even though both Chicago schools are better academically than Georgetown. Chicago is a great city to go to school in and find a job (depending on your major) after graduation. Good luck and enjoy.

bump…

Penn - Reach
Duke - Reachish
Georgetown - Low reach
Northwestern - Low reach
UChicago - Reach
Emory - Match/High Match
Wake Forest - Match
UGA Honors - Match (Not really familiar with, but if it is a state school, safety!)
Davidson - Match/Safety

I would say that your list is good and pretty on target for where you are at, but just improves your SAT scores a bit and you should be golden. You EC’s are interesting and you are a perfect case of quality over quantity, but definitely find your passion in your EC’s, and I think it will come off really clearly in your application! I would say maybe look for one or two more schools that are a bit more of a match for your credentials if you aren’t able to bump up your SAT score (although, according to your EC’s, I don’t see this as being a huge issue!)

Penn-Reach
Duke-Reach
Georgetown- Low Reach
Northwestern- Low Reach
UChicago-Reach
Emory-Match
Wake Forest- Match
UGA Honors- Safety, although hate putting safety for any honors college.
Davidson-Safety
Good Luck, raise the SAT verbal or score really well on the ACT and you will be fine.

Chance Me Back

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1109023-chance-georgetown-notre-dame-boston-college.html

Hi JonDrums,

Below I’ve, according to my opinion, given you the chances for each of the schools you listed. In general, you are certainly an impressive applicant and all of the admissions committees from the schools you mentioned will definitely move you past the first round triage. From there, it obviously gets more complicated.

Mid to High Reaches:
University of Pennsylvania-(40-50/100)
Georgetown University- (65/100)
University of Chicago- (60/100)
Northwestern University- (65/100)

Reach to Safety:
Duke University- (70-75/100)

Safety:
Wake Forest University- (80/100)
Emory- (80/100)
Davidson- (90/100)
University of Georgia | Honors- (100/100)

Upenn - low
Duke - low-mid
Wake Forest - high
Georgetown - low
Emory - mid
Davidson - high
UGA Honors - mid-high
Northwestern - low-mid
UChicago - low-mid

SATs need a push. GPA could be better for schools like Penn (they tolerate one B). SAT II prob. need a retake (at least should be above 720).

Thanks for all the advice… bump.
