What are my chances at transferring to UCSD

Hi, I am planning to apply for transfer to UCSD as a biochemistry/cell biology major and I was wondering if you guys can chance me. I have attended community college for 2 year. I have taken 20 classes equivalent to 87 semester units. My whole transcript out of 20 classes are 4 C's, 4 B's, and 12 A's. By the end of spring 2014 I will have 1 year of General Chemistry complete with 2 A's, 1 year of General Biology: General Biology 1 a C, General Biology 2 an A. and 1 semester of Calculus an A. Also, I will be currently enrolled in calculus 2, organic chemistry 1, and calculus based physics 1. My overall GPA out of the 20 classes is a 3.4, but my Major GPA is 4 A's and 1 C which is a 3.6 GPA. I have a lot of Extracurricular activities and volunteering. Also, a part time job in community college and much more. I will not be doing TAG for UCSD because my overall GPA is not a 3.5. I am freaking out that my overall GPA is low, but then looking at my pre-requisite classes they look really good. Please help chance me. Thanks

Can I please get an opinion. I don’t need to know an exact answer bit if I can please get peoples opinions I would appreciate it a lot. Please. Thanks

Honestly, I would not trust the chances and trust yourself.
I think your stats are pretty good.
I had near 3.2 when I applied, lower than 3.0 during January update and then back up to 3.0 end of Spring. I was accepted to several good Cal States and waitlisted to Irvine and San Diego. Everyone told me that my chance of getting into UCSD is near 0 and that I should look for an alternative. I got accepted the first batch of the waitlist acceptances.
See, your stats are way better than mine and even though I DID get waitlisted, I was accepted at the end. To me, I think you will get accepted if you keep up your good work and don’t be too nervous. I was freaking out every second for the past couple months that I will not get accepted at all but at the end, everything worked out. Try to think positive!

I’d say that you are in relatively good standing, the only thing that worries me is that C in a major prep course. If I were you I would try an internship or something that looks really boss during the summer and then write a REALLY good personal statement. That should balance out your C’s. Good luck! (:

Thanks for the info. So you guys really think I have a shot at UCSD. Well that makes me feel much better.
