What are my chances at UC Berkeley/UCSD/UCLA

I did poorly my freshman year[3.6] which affected the difficulty of the courseload I could take sophomore year[3.85]. I stepped it up and did much better [4.8] Junior year. I am expecting to do well this year as well.

Open to recommendations of any schools that might be a better fit. I don’t have a very developed list yet.

Oops, miscalculated weighted non-uc gpa by a lot. It should be 4.08

You are a very strong candidate for all 3. Be sure to apply elsewhere tough, you just never know…

Any idea on my chances for UPenn, Carnegie Mellon, or Cornell? Any suggestions for safeties that are also good for computer science?

I believe you have a great chance for the UCs. But we both know that being a male Asian candidate going for Computer Science is extremely competitive. It looks like your ECs are very impressive because it shows interest in Computer Science. Strong GPA, but your stats from sophomore year might hurt you a bit. Apply for all the UCs though, try to improve your SAT score. I would say UCLA is a match, and UCB is a low reach.

I’d say high match/low reach for all 3 schools. Like Focuce said, your gender/race will not help you but your test scores and gpa are good enough.

UC doesn’t distinguish between Asian or non Asian male.

My SAT score is now a 2320, how much does that help me?

bump

You are in good shape for UCs.
