I am an international student. have a 2080 on my SAT's and I am going to give them again. I have a 2400 on my SAT 2 (math 1 , math 2 , physics ). I have given three AP's and am expecting 5 in two of them and 4 in one of them. My extra curriculars are not that great. I have won a poetry competition and done social service but nothing very great . However I have done well in olympiads and have gotten 99 percentile in national genius search examination. My question is what are my chances of getting into ucb or ucla and how much should I get in the second attempt of my sat ?

Just for future reference, you don’t add up 3 subject test scores to get a composite score.

A couple questions…
- Grades? GPA? Something?
- SAT Breakdown?
- What country?

Then I can answer

I am from India studying in a CBSE board school.
I got 640 in reading 680 in writing and 760 in math
And I got 82% in class 11 and the class average was 75% so I came 6th in a class of 40 people.

I’m not going to sugarcoat; intl. admissions are REALLY tough.
However, I’m not sure if this is AS true for UC’s.
Still, if you were in the states, these schools would be pretty big reaches (an 82% GPA in the states is around a 3.0 GPA…).
I’m not super aware, though, of your grading system. Maybe someone else can be of more assistance!

Okay
Thanks anyways.

Minimum UC GPA required for Out of State and Internationals is 3.4. If you meet this criteria and are Full Pay, you would have a chance at UCR/UCM/UCSC but not UCB or UCLA. You might want to post this on the International Students forum.
