I’m just really nervous because I really want to go to UF, my Dad is a resident so I can get in-state. It’s my top choice and their admissions are so random so I’m kind of nervous that my GPA UW out of 4 is a 3.66. I’ve had straight As sophmore and junior year but freshman year was rough for home reasons so I had Bs and like 2 As. Do you think I have a good shot?

UF looks like a match. Holistic admissions can seem a bit random, but your EC’s look great and should be a plus and not a negative.

Make sure you do a good job on the essay, it really matters at UF.

Good Luck!

@Gator88NE Hey this is random, but I know that you know a lot about UF. What are their restrictions on the essay? Is it 500 words or a 2,500 character limit including spaces?

@Monkey288195 “Your essay should be limited to approximately 2500 characters, including spaces.”

I think you’ll find the limit is based on the number of characters and not words.

Hey @Gator88NE when they say approximately is it 2500 max?

@Braedonk I’d say you will get in.

Your GPA is around the 70th percentile and your testing at the 80th percentile. Your ECs are probably much better than the average admitted student IMO.

I’d be somewhat shocked if you didn’t get in, to be honest.

@AimingTop50 my UF GPA is a 4.3 cause I had a few Bs my freshman year so I don’t know if it’s 70th percentile, but I explained that I had some personal factors and illness with my Mom that distracted me from school. hopefully I’ll get in, but thanks for the info and comments!

Did not see. Then your GPA sits at around 25th percentile. Testing still high though. I would call it a match, then.
