What are my chances for early admission/regular admission
@aeechampati My daughter will be a 2020 grad of UGA and first of all, she loves it. We live OOS and her grades were not as strong as yours and got in. Her ACT was a 29 and she had taken several AP’s as you have with the extracurriculars. She applied RD as her grades were borderline for the school and the counselor mentioned that EA candidates are normally accepted on grades alone. Now a a couple years have passed and i think that it may of gotten a bit more difficult to get accepted to UGA but I think your grades are solid and you should have an excellent chance of getting accepted. My son just applied and got accepted to UGA via EA and but his stats were higher than my daughters. ACT 33, many AP’s, 4.07/4.0 gpa, captain of varsity baseball, soccer etc… He received scholarship $ as well. Keep working hard, and if you get your ACT to a 32 or 33, I would apply EA, but reach out to your regional counselor and ask their thoughts, plus it doesnt hurt to get the dialogue going. That goes with any school you are interested. Good Luck+
@kyledad Can you share how much scholarship money your son got? My OOS D20 wants to apply. She’s got a 4.0 uw and 4.5 w gpa out of 5, ranked in the top 3%. Finances are important here as we won’t qualify for need based aid.
@chb088 My son school does not rank but the school is highly competitive. His UW GPA is 3.87/4.0 and W 4.07/4.0. He received the UGA Classic Scholarship which is currently $9,287 per year at a minimum. I think they say minimum as tuition will certainly go up and they lock a certain % to the scholarship. My daughter received $0 but her grades were not as strong so I pay the full boat there. We do not qualify for any need based aid either. Good Luck and I hope it works out++ It is a really great school, it is hard to convince my daughter to come home on breaks.
Class rank & rigor of coursework is important. My nephew had a 1450 SAT & a 31 ACT, Georgia resident, URM, was waitlisted, then admitted to UGA. Because he had a major health issue, his class rank was just above median.
