What Are My Chances at University of Oregon? (Cinema Studies)

Hello everyone, sorry if there’s any information missing, i’m new and a bit clueless.

I’m senior who currently resides in Southern California and I’m very curious as to my chances of getting accepted to the University of Oregon. This is a little about me

GPA 3.02 (W) (took AP and honors courses every year of high school and have passed all my AP test with 3 or above)
SAT: 1670 no studying and i’m taking it again this weekend with some preparation so i’m hoping for a much better score.

EC: although I am part of a numerous amount of clubs I plan to only mention the clubs i’m heavily involved in which are:
EDU Africa - Vice President
Paperback Foundation - Secretary
Stock Market Club - member 4 years
Key club - member 2 years

I’m also apart of my schools TV program, and have been for a few years now, which is well respected and we have won many awards at film competitions such as STN, and we’re currently working with PBS News Hour.

This leads me to what I plan on majoring, which is Cinema Studies, I realize my GPA is low for Oregon (very long reason to this which is explained in my essay) but I was wondering if they would be more lenient due to my major. Please inform me on the possibility of getting into the U of O, it’s my favorite school by far. If any extra information is needed feel free to ask.

Thank You.

Tell us more about your essay. Did you just make excuses about low GPA or tell a good story. I feel like your essay is REALLY important in this application.

Im telling a good story, during freshman year my father lost his job and eventually got a new one in the state of california, (we had lived in Florida), so I was forced to pack my bags and move into a small apartment with my 4 other siblings and parents as well as try my best to make money and had to take many responsibilities that my parents can no longer do due to being away at work.

Not sure if i replied the right way…

PLEASE REPLY, very curious and cannot get this out of my head, anyone have any experiences or friends/family with?

Don’t worry. I go to University of Oregon I know people who got 17s on their ACTs and go here. As long as you have a 3.0 GPA when you apply I’m 95% sure you’ll get in. Most people I know here are from southern california. Although I hope money isn’t an issue because they don’t give out too much aid to those who are out-of-state. You will be fine.

I got accepted this year and have a 3.6 GPA and a 22 ACT
