Please give me your honest thoughts on my chances of getting in

Are you in-state or out of state? UT-Austin has a 48.5% in-state acceptance rate vs a 25.9% out of state acceptance rate.

As one assumes you won’t be auto admit, your chances are really low to that major. If you are OOS it isn’t even worth applying.

I am in-state

A lot will depend on if you are in the top 6% of your graduating class, but also to be honest it just seems to be one of those majors that’s tough to get into at UT regardless of rank or stats. My in-state son was accepted for the BME class of '24 and he is a graduating valedictorian with a 36 ACT/1560 SAT. We know an auto admit for UT who was in the top 10 kids graduating in a class of over 700 who was rejected from BME as a major. So just do your best on your essays!
