What are my chances at UVA?

My unweighted GPA is a 3.89

You’re definitely getting in dude. As long as your essays are decent, because you’re in state and top 5% of your class you are essentially a shoe-in. UVa is one of those schools where GPA matters over everything. Because you’re top 5%, honestly get your testing up and apply to some Ivies/Reaches because with a GPA like that you’re in an amazing position. I was accepted to UVa with a 30 ACT (31 SS though) and I was top 10% of my class. Everyone in my school, regardless how good or bad their testing was, got in if they were top 5% at least for EA. Good luck and most importantly, finish junior year off strong!
