Actually my weighted GPA is a 3.6305 on a 4 point scale and my school didnt give me my unweighted but I'm assuming its around 3.5

i'd say hit or miss. Like 50/50. why are you applying for the spring?

Slight reach, try for over 2100 on your retake and you should have a good chance.

I'm currently writing all my essays for my fall applications..Since there is no more EA, I could technically wait for january 1, 2009 to send in my app. However the admissions liason at UVA said legacy applicants should get their applications in by thanksgiving so I should have my 3 essays for UVA ready to go by then...I have a lot more volunteer activities than I listed but I'm pretty sure those arent gunna make or break my application..

Gosh, my senior D has about that GPA (3.7 at present) and I'm so unsure about her chances, and she's in-state which I hear is easier. She has 2 uncles who graduated from U.Va. so no legacy, but her SAT is in the 2100's at present.

I just get the impression that grades trump everything, just everything, even extracurriculars, which is why I feel quite concerned about my d's chances.

My d wants chemistry too. Good luck to both of you!

Well I mean..I got a 1930 with a 600 in writing but every time I take a new writing test I get between a 700 and 750, which would give my score a huge boost. Also, my 670 in math could've been a lot higher cuz I got an easy question wrong, which brought my raw score down because of the rounding thing SAT does (.5 rounds up but .25 rounds down)
