What are My chances at Virginia Tech? -- General Engineering

I'm currently a Junior at WT Woodson High School in northern Va.
I'd like to know your honest opinion on my chances of getting accepted to Vtech for engineering early decision (I will apply next year).

SAT score: 800 math, 590 CR, 550 Writing (going to retake in hopes of getting writing/CR up)
ACT: Composite- 29, 25 English, 30 math, 28 reading, 31 science (going to retake in hopes of improving in all sections)

Gpa is all based on a 4.0 scale, with an A= 93-100, A-= 90-93, B+= 87-89, B=83-86..etc; Honors = +0.5, AP= +1.0

7th grade I took Alg 1 Honors

8th grade I took Geometry Honors and French 1

Freshman year: Weighted gpa 2.9 (I know it's garbage, but will explain how death of my father resulted in poor school year)
English 9
Alg 2 Honors
Biology Honors
French 2
PE
Photography

Sophomore year: Weighted gpa 3.743 (better, but not great)
English 10
AP World History
Pre-calc
Chemistry Honors
French 3
PE
Sports Med

Junior year: Weighted gpa 4.1 (So far, after 1 semester)
Physics Honors
AP US History
STEM Engineering
English 11
French 4
AP Calc AB
AP Psychology

Senior year: Weighted gpa N/A
(Courses I will take)
AP Calc BC
AP Statistics
AP Physics C
US Government Honors
English 12 Honors
Advanced STEM Engineering
Economics & Personal Finance

I plan to graduate with 7 math classes, 4 sciences and an advanced diploma (with CTE seal due to STEM Engineering).

Also, my brother is graduating from VT this spring.. so that makes me legacy, I think?

So.. I'd like to know your honest opinion on me getting into Virginia Tech's Engineering Program with an early decision application (I personally think it is a far reach). Would it be in my best interest to apply early decision University studies instead of Engineering, and then switching into engineering after a semester? Or possibly just RE Engineering/ University studies?

I know this is a lot of information at once, but I tried to make it as detailed as possible to make it easier for you!
I appreciate all feedback!

Siblings are not considered legacy.

You look great, the math SAT is outstanding. Maybe take a math subject test to cover up the GPA a little bit.
