I’m currently a junior at a small school in NYC. I fell in love with Wesleyan University and I want to ED there. I have had good grades (mainly As and occasional A-s) but then this year I got 2 B+s for my first semester in honors precalc and physics. However, I got high As in my ap classes (AP French and APUSH, my school doesn’t have a lot of APs). I’m planning on majoring in history, so I don’t really need to be good at math, but I want to have the grades to get into Wes. I’m just scared that the two B+s look really bad since they are in 11th grade. Would this look ok for WES?
GPA in 9th grade: 3.94 UW
GPA 10th grade: 4.0 UW
Current grades for 11th: All straight As except B+ in honors precalc and physics in Semester 1. I’m predicting all As in my classes for the second semester, except either an A- or high B+ in math.
I am going to take French at Baruch College next year and I hope that Wes will be impressed with me taking college courses. I’m also going to take AP Euro History, AP Environmental Sci, honors calculus and AP English.
I haven’t taken ACT yet bc of corona but I’m predicting 32, hoping for 33. Also, my ECs include:
- theater program at my school (6 years)
- piano, outside of school, for 14 years (I’m going to send in a music supplement as well)
- Founder and president of the outdoors club at my school (2 years)
- head of media and management of my school’s robotics team (2 years)
- member of Science Olympiad (4 years)
- School all-female a capella group (4 years)
- Peer leader at my school. I teach gender and consent education and I facilitate discussions with freshmen and basically help them ease into high school. I also help run faculty events. (2 years)
Someone please help me! The admissions process is just so much more stressful now and I would love some advice or opinions!
