Hi, I’m new to College Confidential and I’m a high school junior from North Carolina (Raleigh area). I’m interested in applying to The Wharton School at UPenn next year and I’d like to know my chances. My class rank is currently 1 of 601, and I’m taking the most difficult classes that I can. I’m taking AP Stats this year and AP Calc AB and BC next year. My only potential issue academically is that I have a B (currently an 85) in AP Physics. I’ve gotten a 1490 on the New SAT, and I’m retaking it in December. I’ve been on the varsity tennis team at my high school the past two years, and I’m very competitive on alto saxophone. I’ve gotten 2nd chair all-district honor band, and finished 6th in the all-state honor band audition. I’ve also gotten 2nd and 1st chair in local college honor bands. Freshman year, I was rookie of the year in marching band. I played in the pit orchestra for the school play last spring and I will do it again this spring as well. I’m now in NHS and I’ve been in the Tri-M Music Honor for the past three years. I’m now the president of Tri-M. Speaking of leadership, my teacher is running for a seat in the North Carolina House, and I’m his Student Campaign Coordinator. I forgot to mention that my sister is currently a freshman in the UPenn Nursing School. I don’t have any other family who went to Penn. Is there anything else that I could do to increase my chances at Wharton? Any input is appreciated. Thank you so much!
