Are you in the local in-service area? http://www.calstate.edu/sas/onestopkiosk/documents/CSULocalAdmission-ServiceAreas.pdf
CSU Fullerton admits by major and eligibility index. (3.56 x800) + (790)= 3638. Around a 3800 EI is competitive but if you are local, you may have a chance. Is your SAT score super scored?, since CSU’s will super score if you sent in more than one set of scores. Your low SAT may be an issue.
Sadly, I am not local
Do they view GPA and test scores separately or together?
They view them together for the eligibility index. (CSU GPA x800) + (SAT Math+CR). Your GPA is competitive but your test scores impact your chances negatively.
I understand! I wonder how kids with less than 3.0 GPA’s compare in such a competitive pool
With the eligibility index, high test scores can makeup for a lower GPA and in the same way your solid GPA helps your EI with low test scores. Much will depend upon the stats for the in-coming Freshman communication majors that are also applying. Since CSU Fullerton is an impacted campus, all majors have more qualified applicants than spots. All you can do is hope for the best and make sure you have some solid Match and Safety schools on your list.
