I am a high school senior who has already compiled a college list. But I’m impatient, and I want to see if my list is too reach-heavy before I get too far along. Without further ado, here it is:
Clemson (Calhoun Honors College)
Wake Forest
Duke
Vanderbilt
Rice
Yale
Furman
Davidson
Wofford
I’m a white male from the great state of South Carolina with a decent EFC, but I’m not rich (~80-90K) I want to major in something related to math, biology, and/or chemistry. My test scores aren’t stellar, but they’re pretty solid (SAT 1490 (710 R/W, 780 M), ACT 35). I am a National Merit SF and ranked in the top 1% of my class (#3 out of ~300). I have taken the most rigorous course load possible at my high school, taking 9 AP classes counting this year and earning 5s on all 7 exams I have taken (US Govt, US Hist, Calc AB, Calc BC, Bio, English Lang, English Lit). As you can guess by my screen name, my main hobby is tennis, but I am also my school’s senior class president, NHS chapter vice president, and the president of the ultimate frisbee club. I have over 100 community service hours, mainly helping out in youth tennis clinics and at my elementary school.
What are my chances at these schools, and is my list too reach-heavy? Thank you!
