Hi-
I will be applying for biological sciences for the fall of 2013 to UC Davis/ UC Santa Barbara.
By the time I apply this fall, I should have 3.31 overall gpa and have approximately 30semester units.. with all my IGETC requirements completed.
I'm just a little worried, because the only prerequisites I have completed for my major at the time of applying is: gchem1/2, calc1.
I plan on getting bio1/2 and physics 1/2 along with calc2/calc3 completed by the end of spring 2013..which leaves me only with the ochem series left to complete at a 4+year university.

The GPA could be higher.. I know.. but getting to get to this point in my life right now was not easy. Long story short, I took college after high school from 2003-2004. Being a punk kid, I just never went to school and didn't have the slightest idea what I wanted to do in my life. I had a couple run-ins with the law (nothing serious).. I was just a lost kid making crappy decisions...
So, eventually I dropped out of CC with a 1.67GPA (business admin major). During this time, I reached a low point in my life at a really early age. This led me to my decision on joining the military. I joined the Marines for 4years (served a tour overseas in Iraq for 8months) at the age of 19. I got out in late 2009 and saw the opportunity to start off on a blank slate... My journey to pursue science led me all the way back to Pre-Algebra and English 99! D= ... I knew it wasn't going to be easy.. But now.. I'm on my third and final year at CC and more than likely transfer with a cumulative 3.4 - 3.5gpa (from a 1.67!)

To anyone that's reading this and started off real bad in college..do not let anyone tell you what you can't do... You control your own destiny. Be patient and hungry!

Sorry for the long post.. I just need some advice due to the incompetent counselors at my school.
Thanks.
