What are my Chances for AEM at Cornell

I'm a senior in high school
GPA:4.9592 (hopefully over a 5.1 in a semester)
Unweighted: 3.95
Rank:3/487
ACT:31 (trying to bring it up)
Yet to take subject tests
EC: President Of DECA (A business/marketing association)
President of Key Club, HIstorian of Mu Alpha Theta, Secretary of Business Professionals of America, Ex Secretary of Key Club and founding members, SGA, CHairman of Broward Beach Clean up, Created a Public Relations Campaign about International Day of Peace: Got the local media, school, and community involved. I ran lots of fundraisers, cleanups, had classes support children in underprivileged societies, and will create my own business plan and participate in Financial Management Competition this year. And probably create a new PR campaign to raise awareness of being "drug free."

I also work four to five days a week at my dads local ice cream shop with no pay (live off of tips to help save payroll and remove a financial burden).
And i have also managed the business for four weeks without any help plus school and clubs (due to father's surgery)

extremely interested in business and entrepreneurship ( got this passion from running the business and etc) and ican go on for hours =/

what r my chances? honest opinions.. thanks alot!!!

Why didn't you take the SAT?
Most AEM applicants are from NY state and will have SAT scores.

your GPA/class rank is meaningless unless you took the most challenging curriculum your school has to offer. did you take any AP's/honors classes? more importantly, were they offered at your school?

which subject tests will you take?

keep in mind that the AEM major has one of the lowest admit rates at Cornell - just under 15% last year. WORK ON THE ESSAY. Cornell is very much a "fit" school. If you are what they're looking for, they'll overlook some things on your app.

your work exp looks v good. a stark contrast to the kids I counsel here in NYC. did you win any awards thru DECA? any outstanding/notable achievements in the clubs you were a part of?

all that being said, your chances look decent for AEM.
are you a NYS resident? that will help you.

thank you for the input..much appreciated

I live in the South. Not NY.

I will Take Math2 and either Physics or Bio Subject Tests

I will take SAT1 in Oct (from the practice tests i will get anywhere from 700 to 800 in the Math and 600 to 700 in CR)

I have won districts at DECA and was a state finalist last year.
This year I am sure I will make it to Nationals because for my drug awareness week I will invite celebs and get the media involved (Public Relations Campaign)

Freshmen Year:
I took AP Human Geo

Sophomore year:
AP Stats and World History

Junior Year:
AP Calc AB and BC
AP Psychology

Senior Year:
AP Physics B
AP Physics C
AP Govt
AP Macroeconomics
AP European History

And I took a bunch of honors courses

My school placed me in a Gifted program called Excalibur offered to the top incoming freshmen

I took Child Dev. Psychology at a Community College in the summer and I am planning to take Anthropology and Sociology (for fun) and these courses are weighted as AP courses

I will also apply to NYU Stern, Wharton, Sloan, state schools

but Cornell is my top choice due to the culture and broad array of courses available to any major

its always fascinating to see ppl calculating their gpa to the ten thousandth digit.
its a little late but i hope u did ED since that would increase ur chance dramatically

Actually thats just how my school calculated i just copied and pasted instead of rounding it up..nd my SATs are 1510 and new ACT result is 34 (just got my scores) so im just gonna do RD based on financial reasons (i come from the low of the low lol)

Better than average chances.

Don't worry AEM takes people with Bs from community college as transfers. I know because I spoke with their admissions officer about an internal transfer. So if u don't get in, it is really easy to transfer into.
